Flood ravages Lokoja, houses submerged, highways cut-off

Heavy flooding has ravaged Lokoja town, the Logo state capital, rendering hundreds homeless and cutting-off highways.

Hundreds of Motorists plying Lokoja -Ajaokuta road that links part of the eastern flank of the state were stranded at ganaja-Lokoja road on Monday as flood water from River Niger/Benue flooded the road and made it impassable.

Sunday Oni, a commercial driver lamented the situation and called on the authority to build proper drainage a on the corridor as the situation occurs anually.

He wondered why a permanent solution would be done for the perennial problem that can be remedied.

A cross section of passers lamented the man power lost in the traffic with huge economic losses.
