The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Governorship candidate in this Saturday’s gubernatorial and State Assembly elections, Rt Hon Titus Uba has reiterated he will prioritize security and agriculture if he is elected the governor is f the state.
He said the security of lives and property will be pursued with vigour as it is critical to attracting investors to the state.
He also said enhancing agricultural production will serve as the economic drive for wealth creation amongst Benue people who are predominantly farmers.
The PDP guber candidate said his blueprint which is tagged “Soil As Our Oil” is anchored on two pillars namely of security and agriculture as its economic drive, stating that apart from introducing irrigation farming, will empower farmers across the state to go into mechanized agriculture with improved seedlings, fertilizer and other inputs to create mega farmers.
Speaking Tuesday, March 7, 2023 when featured on a Radio Benue audience participatory programme, ‘On the Line’, Engr Uba is also Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly called on people of the state to vote for him and all PDP House of Assembly candidates, promising to be a governor for all and meet the aspirations of the masses.
He said having served as two time Speaker of the State Assembly, he has acquired the needed experience and is better equipped with the knowledge of governance, while promising to bring his experience to bear if given the opportunity.
Reacting to the incessant attacks and killings of people of the state by armed herders, Engr Uba said if elected, his administration will sustain the enforcement of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law emphasising that ranching remains a global best practice to rearing of livestock and no part of the state will be ceded to the armed invaders.
He said the security of lives and property of the state will be his priority as security agencies in the state will be given the necessary support to enable them carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.
On the issue of salaries and pension, Engr Uba said the domestication of PENCOM law in the state by the present administration will go a long way in addressing the challenges faced by Benue workers and appreciated their understanding and patience while promising to prioritize their welfare if elected.
The PDP guber candidate called on the people of the state to come out in their numbers this Saturday and vote for him and other candidates of the party so that they can take the state to the next level of development.
He said the party has put behind the results of the Presidential and National Assembly elections and is working towards emerging victorious in the next round of elections.
