The newly appointed Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Mr. Kabir Yusuf will formally assume office today.
A brief handing over ceremony will be held today where the immediate past Managing Director, Capt. Rabiu Yadudu will handover to the new CEO after a successful end of tenure.
The outgoing Managing Director supervised far reaching reforms at the Authority.
He reduced touting to a bare minimum and improved the sanity and ambiance at the major international airports.
Prior to his successor’s elevation, Kabir Mohammed was the Regional General Manager, North Central of FAAN, and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja Manager.
He also enjoys the reputation of introducing innovations to the affairs at the airport.
He is instrumental to improving the internationally generated revenue of the airport by championing the paid parking product that has improved FAAN earnings.
He also introduced unique products like Regular VIP and Exclusive VIP car parks at the airport with unique and bespoke benefits.
He also worked hard to improve the scenic beauty of the Abuja airport and introduced designated car parks for different categories of the airport users to increase sanity.
Through his attention to details, touting at the Abuja airport has been reduced by over 90 percent.
He also increased the number of public toilet facilities for both sexes at the Abuja airport.
He also enhanced the security of the Abuja airport by enforcing stricter controls in accessing restricted areas at the airport.
