The Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has bagged an award from the Office of the Vice President for supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Benue State.
The award presentation took place on June 27th, 2024, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The award recognized Governor Alia’s outstanding efforts in supporting the development and growth of medium and small-scale enterprises (MSEs) within the state, a statement from Comrade Asortar James Asortar, SA on Social Media to the Governor of Benue State said.
Our correspondent reports that the bulk of the MSMEs programmes are being executed by the Benue Investment and Properties Limited.
The statement noted that Benue State has implemented various initiatives and policies aimed at empowering local businesses, creating jobs, and driving economic progress under Gov. Alia.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Benue State Government in supporting our local entrepreneurs,” said Governor Alia while accepting the award..
“Our administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for MSEs to thrive, as they are the backbone of our state’s economy” he said.
The award ceremony was attended by senior government officials, representatives from the private sector, and other dignitaries.
The Office of the Vice President commended Governor Alia for his commitment to fostering a business-friendly climate and for his tireless efforts to promote the growth of medium and small-scale enterprises in Benue State.
