The Nigerian Army has  eliminated two terrorists, arrested an armed suspect, and seized arms and ammunition in preemptive operations conducted recently.
The NA said, On 14 August 2024, acting on credible intelligence on terrorists’ activities, troops of the Nigerian Army carried out an ambush along Kwana Uri village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. In the fierce gun battle that ensued, the troops neutralized two of the terrorists, while the survivors scampered into nearby bushes.
A search conducted at the area led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, 288 rounds of RG55 ammunition, 40 rounds of CJ 95 ammunition, six rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a Baofeng communication radio and a motorcycle.
In a separate operation in Plateau State, troops in a proactive move have arrested a suspected criminal at Ganawuri village of Riyom Local Government Area.
The suspect was found to illegitimately  possess a fabricated automatic rifle.
The elimination of the two terrorists, the recovery of a significant cache of ammunition, and the proactive interception of an armed criminal suspect during these operations highlight the Nigerian Army’s relentless commitment to combating security challenges to restore peace in troubled parts of the country.
The public is encouraged to continue supporting the troops in their mission to ensure a safe and secure Nigeria.
