NYSC Boss Solicits Better Collaboration With Stakeholders

The Director General of National Youth service Corps, Brigadier General Yushu’a Ahmed has assured it’s stakeholders that the Scheme would continue to collaborate with them to deepen the impact of NYSC Community Development Service.
General Ahmed stated this today during the Opening Ceremony ceremony of NYSC Community Development Service Stakeholders’ Workshop held at Police Officers’ Wives National Secretariat, Asokoro, Abuja.
The DG, who was represented by the Director Ventures Management, Prince Mohammed Momoh, said the theme of the workshop; “Building Strategic Partnership for Impactful Development”, is timely as the impact of the Community Development Service in the NYSC cannot be over emphasised, moreso, as the Scheme has recorded more successes through the activities of Community Development Service.
He said the meeting is timely, adding that it’s is an avenue to strengthen the existing relationship with the Scheme’s Stakeholders as well as improve efficiency and innovative ideas to drive meaningful change.
Speaking further, the Director General declared that the workshop will give further opportunity to reflect on the progress made, share success stories and identify pathways to greater achievements.
He enumerated some of the collaborations with the Scheme’s stakeholders such as; National Population Commission, among others which birthed the tree planting awareness campaign, HIV/AIDS awareness, Reproductive Health and SDGs advocacy as success stories.
General Ahmed said Corps Members as catalysts of national development will continue to be mentored towards initiating projects that will continuously benefit her host communities.
Earlier in her address, the Director, Community Development Service and Special Projects, Hajiya Zainab Isah, said the need to streamline functions and activities for greater efficiency necessitated the workshop.
She thanked the Director General for his immense support to Community Development Service Department which has led to the successful execution of all programmes in the department.
Some of the stakeholders at the workshop include; Mind the Gap, UNICEF, Hope Alive Foundation, NESREA, SON, GOTNI, SDGs among others.
