The Commander 17 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA), Brigadier General Babatunde Omopariola, officially commissioned the newly constructed 17 Brigade Medical Centre (BMC) Accident and Emergency Unit and other projects at the Natsinta Cantonment Katsina State.
In his remarks at the commissioning ceremony, the Commander reiterated his commitment to providing the BMC with the necessary resources to support the medical welfare of troops and their families.
He equally emphasized that the provision of suitable work environments for the Supply and Transport (ST) kitchen, Vocational Centre, as well as more conducive accommodation for NYSC Corps Members, are part of his welfare package, designed to enable the beneficiaries discharge their duties effectively.
He stressed the importance of maintaining the new facilities and optimizing their use as being key to encouraging the establishment of other welfare facilities in the barracks.
The other projects commissioned by the Commander include; an established and fully equipped 17 BMC Electronic Health Record System, a newly built 17 Brigade ST Kitchen, a newly constructed and fully equipped Nigeria Army Soldiers’ Wives Association (NASWA) Vocational Centre Training Shed, a renovated and fully furnished 17 Brigade National Youth Service Corps Members’ Lodge, and a Recreation Shed.
Highlights of the event were cutting of the projects commissioning tapes, tour of the facilities by the Commander, Principal Staff Officers of 17 Brigade and medical staff, physical demonstration of the uses of electronic health records system.
