“Growth Is A Gradual Process But Perseverance Yields Greater Rewards” Says Commandant AWCN

The Commandant of the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN), Major General Ishaya Maina, has called on newly promoted officer and soldiers of the College to remain steadfast in their professional journey, emphasizing that “growth is a gradual process, but perseverance yields greater rewards.”
The Commandant made this remark during the decoration ceremony held at the College where one officer and 16 soldiers were honored and decorated with their new ranks.
The ceremony celebrated the exceptional achievements of these personnel, who have consistently exemplified dedication, hard work, and discipline in their service.
The Commandant congratulated the personnel and reminded them of the increasing responsibilities tied to their new positions, urging them to embrace their roles with humility, professionalism, and a commitment to service
. He commended their contributions to the College and the Nigerian Army, describing their promotions as well-deserved milestones.
In addition, he encouraged the personnel to remain disciplined in all their endeavors, noting that “by maintaining discipline, you will certainly realize your goals.”
General Maina also expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for providing a significant number of vacancies within the College, creating opportunities for these deserving personnel to attain their well-earned promotions and progress in their careers.
Among those decorated was Lt DC Lumanze, who was promoted to the rank of Captain, and three soldiers promoted from Staff Sergeant to Warrant Officer. Additionally, five personnel advanced from Sergeant to Staff Sergeant, five from Corporal to Sergeant, and three from Lance Corporal to Corporal.
The event was attended by the Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies Brigadier General AM Umar, Directors, Faculty Members, families, and friends, all of whom joined in celebrating the remarkable achievements of the promoted personnel.
The event concluded with words of advice from senior officers, a vote of thanks by the officer and the SNCO, and finally a group photograph session.
