The Member House of Representatives Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, Hon. Terseer Ugbor has condemned the atrocious killings in Turan/Ikyurav-Ya community in Kwande Local Government of Benue State and pledged to seek permanent solutions to the insecurity that has claimed the lives of many of his constituents.

A statement by Dagu Fred, his
S.A Media and Publicity said Hon. Ugbor made the commitment while speaking during a live program on Harvest FM Makurdi.

The Honourable Member during the interview assured that he will bring permanent security solutions to the people of kwande.

He mentioned his efforts to establish Nigerian Immigration Service in kwande local government, installation of the E-Border Monitoring System at the Benue-Cameroon border, and a Nigerian Police Border Patrol Unit at Jato Aka.

He extended his condolences to the people of Kwande over the continuous loss of lives. He expressed his sorrow for those who have lost their loved ones in the recent spate of attacks in the vicinity of Anwase/Abande, particularly during this season of Yuletide, which is traditionally one of peace and celebration.

Hon. Ugbor, while urging the people to remain resolute and vigilant against the attacks by the herdsmen, assured them of his commitment to implement proactive measures aimed at achieving lasting solutions to the security situation.

He called on Federal and State Governments to reopen the international border road in that area, as well as other rural roads and vital social amenities in the Turan/Ikyurav-Ya, to facilitate the free movement of security personnel and promote industrialization, which would contribute to mitigating insecurity in the area.

He asserted that the Government must fulfill its primary responsibility of protecting lives and property and urged the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) to act promptly in providing assistance to the thousands of individuals who recently have been displaced in his Constituency.
