The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has suspended all access gate fees at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

A statement on Saturday signed by its spokesperson, Dr Obiageli Orah, the agency said the suspension is to alleviate the traffic burden on airport road users.

There is currently road expansion works leading to the toll gate necessitating the closure of the toll gate and a makeshift temporary collection point established.

However, the makeshift collection point was causing huge traffic jams leading to the airport terminals. Following this development, FAAN suspended all till collections to escape traffic movements.

The statement added that the suspension will take effect from Friday, January 24, 2025, to Friday, February 7, 2025.

It reads, “The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria wishes to inform the general public that all access gates at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International International Airport, Abuja, are suspended to alleviate the traffic burden on our airport road users.

“We deeply empathise with the inconvenience caused by the ongoing construction and remain committed to ensuring a smooth travel experience for all road users.”
