He appreciated the government and the people of Yobe State for their support to the troops.

Responding, Governor Buni expressed appreciation to the COAS for the visit and called for escalation of concerted effort to decisively deal with the security situation in the state. He pledged his continous support to the troops to facilitate the attainment of their objectives.

The governor seized the opportunity to pray for the repose of the souls of the troops who paid the supreme price for the restoration of peace in the state.

He urged them not to relent until the adversaries of the nation are brought to their knees and guaranteed his unflinching support to enhance their welfare and operational effectiveness.

The Army Chief charged the troops to remain committed while he strives to provide improved accommodation for them and their families, kitting and the provision of adequate combat enablers.

While at the Theatre Command, the COAS received briefs on ongoing operations and commended the officers and soldiers for their efforts, urging them to do more. He assured of his continued support to enable them to carry out their tasks professionally.
