The Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA), Major General JE Osifo, has commended the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) for its empowerment initiatives and visionary leadership.

The Commandant NASFA made the commendation during the donation of  skills acquisition equipment to members of NAOWA and Nigerian Army Soldier’s Wives Association (NASWA) by Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Apapa Zone.

The donation, which took place in various barracks around Apapa and Mile 2 Lagos, aimed to improve the living conditions of women in these communities.

Speaking during the event, the Commandant NASFA, who was also the Special Guest of Honour, praised NAOWA’s efforts in building the capacity of women in barracks communities. He noted that the association’s initiatives have had a positive impact on the lives of many women and their families.

The Commandant specifically commended NAOWA’s leadership for their visionary approach to empowering women. He emphasized that the association’s programs have not only improved the economic well-being of women but have also enhanced their social status and confidence.

The Zonal Coordinator, NAOWA Apapa, Mrs. Adesayo Adesina urged the recipients to make optimal use of the equipment, emphasizing the profound impact of women’s empowerment. “When you empower a woman, you empower the world,” she stressed

NAOWA’s empowerment initiatives include skills acquisition programs, vocational training, and economic empowerment schemes.

The programs are designed to equip women with the skills and knowledge needed to become self-sufficient and contribute to the economic development of their communities.

A total of 46 beneficiaries received starter packs containing head dressing equipment, makeup accessories, computer laptop sets, tailoring machines, and other skills acquisition tools.

The event was attended by senior military officers, NAOWA executives, and other dignitaries. It provided an opportunity for the Commandant.
