Benue State’s highly anticipated Food Basket Brewery, an initiative of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), is now at its final stages and has reached 78 percent completion level.

The Group Managing Director/CEO BIPC, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha told our correspondent BIPC targets May 2025 to launch the factory that would go down as one of the most modern breweries in the middle belt.
He also said the facility marks a “significant milestone in the state’s industrial development efforts of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State, championed by the BIPC CEO.

“The construction of key infrastructure has been successfully completed, including the Main Production House, Warehouse, Administrative Block, Clinic, and Power House” Dr. Asemakaha revealed.
“These structures form the backbone of the brewery, which is expected to boost the state’s economy and create job opportunities for thousands of residents” he further noted.
Currently, he said finishing touches are being done with screeding of walls, POP installations, sand filling, and the fixing of window burglaries in progress.

According to the MD/CEO, these activities are aimed at ensuring the facility meets the highest standards before full operations commence.
He further revealed that the machineries for the production lines have departed the People’s Republic of China and are expected to arrive in Nigeria soon. Once installed, these machines will pave the way for the brewery’s official launch and the commencement of large-scale production he stated.
“The BIPC Food Basket Brewery is positioned to be a game-changer for Benue State, providing a stable market for local farmers, increasing revenue generation, and enhancing industrialization” the BIPC boss assured.
