The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched a self-service portal for Nigerians to simplify data modification.

This initiative is also aims to ensure the security and integrity of the National Identification Number (NIN) data.

According to the agency, modifications to the NIN can only be made through the official NIMC self-service portal, which can be accessed at selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.

A statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Dr Kayode Adegoke, the agency warned Nigerians against using unauthorized websites.

“Do not attempt to modify your NIN data on any unauthorized sites, as this may compromise your personal information and put you at risk of identity theft,” he warned.

“By using the official NIMC self-service portal, you can be assured that your data is secure and protected. You’ll also enjoy the convenience of updating your information from anywhere, at any time.”

“For all NIN modification needs, please visit selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng.

“For further information and inquiries, you can visit the NIMC website at www.nimc.gov.ng, send an email to nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng, or call the customer care line at 070022556462″ the statement indicated.
