The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Farouk Umar Mijinyawa, commissioned a reconstructed quarter guard and newly constructed officers’ mess at the Headquarters NA Band Corps (NABC), Abalti Barracks, Ojuelegba, Lagos State.

During the commissioning ceremony, the GOC praised the project executor, Acting Director NABC, Lieutenant Colonel MA Toriola, for undertaking such laudable projects.

Major General Mijinyawa expressed happiness that officers are embracing the transformational leadership of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General OO Oluyede. He noted that the COAS has been executing life-changing projects across formations and units of the NA since assuming command.

Major General FU Mijinyawa recalled visiting the Headquarters NABC six months prior and was impressed to return and commission such impactful projects. He commended the quality of work, stating that the projects are essential to discipline in the NA, as they are key elements of regimentation.

The Acting Director NABC, Lieutenant Colonel MA Toriola, thanked the COAS for enabling the projects.

He said the facilities represent progress, professionalism, and pride in service, reflecting the NA’s dedication to excellence in welfare.

Lieutenant Colonel Toriola thanked the GOC and senior officers for being exemplary role models.

He concluded that the GOC’s presence demonstrates his commitment to the well-being of NABC officers and men, which they hold in high esteem.
