Peace Building Among Muslims/Christians: General Musa Host Southern Kaduna Communities

In a historic demonstration of unity and mutual respect, representatives of Muslim Ummah of Southern Kaduna and Christian Association of Southern Kaduna paid a heartfelt courtesy visit to the Chief of Defence Staff ( CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.

The meeting marked by a deep desire for a total commitment to peace, reflected General Musa’s people-centric leadership approach. his vision rooted in professionalism, inclusivity, and respect for all continues to resonate with communities across the nation. This, undoubtedly is yielding tangible progress in the ongoing efforts to address contemporary security challenges in the country.

 

In the words of one of the members of the delegation, “This is not just a military leader, but a true son of the soil, one who belongs to everyone, Muslims and Christians alike,” Continuing, he added, “His dedication to unity, fairness and justice makes us proud.” The delegation commended the relatively peaceful atmosphere currently being enjoyed in Southern Kaduna, a region once beleaguered by conflict.

 

The delegation further pointed out that the progress is a testament to the commitment of the CDS, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Government and the Presidency, in creating a secured and harmonious environment for all.

 

Key issues affecting the region were discussed during the visit, in addition to constructive recommendations. In his usual sterling leadership style, General Musa assured the delegation of his continued commitment to sustainable peace and inclusive development. Responding to the CDS remarks, the delegation affirmed that though conflict is inevitable in all societies, peace remains the bedrock of progress. “Only a coward declares war in his own home. We, the people of Southern Kaduna, must continue to build on our gains through mutual respect, tolerance, justice, and fairness for all — regardless of faith, ethnicity, or status.”, the delegation said

 

The visit by the delegation which indicates a remarkable show of solidarity stands as a beacon of hope and a model for interfaith collaboration in Nigeria and beyond.
