In a significant and commendable operational achievement, troops of the AFN in an air operations have effectively neutralized a large number of terrorists operating along the border between Zamfara and Kebbi States.

These precision strikes, carried out as Air Components of  OPERATION FASAN YAMMA, specifically targeted a convoy of armed terrorists traversing a remote corridor known for its rampant bandit activities.

The decision to launch the coordinated air operation was based on actionable intelligence regarding the movement of the terrorist convoy. The convoy was suspected to be en route to key communities where they planned to carry out attacks. Surveillance efforts confirmed the presence of armed bandits and their logistical supplies, prompting an immediate response from the Air Component of OPERATION FASAN YAMMA.

As a result of the airstrikes, multiple motorcycles were destroyed, and a significant number of terrorists were neutralized. Ground assessments have revealed a substantial disruption to the operational capacity of the terrorist group in the region. This successful mission highlights the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian military to eradicate terrorist threats and ensure the safety of citizens in the northwest region.

  1. Ongoing operations are in place, with follow-up missions scheduled to prevent any potential regrouping of fleeing terrorist elements.
