The National Productivity Centre (NPC) has agreed to partner with the Association of Corporate Online Editors (ACOE) to deepen publicity of it’s programmes and activities.

The Director-General of NPC, Hon. Baffa Babba Dan-Agundi, disclosed this on Tuesday when the Association paid him a courtesy visit at the Centre’s corporate headquarters in Abuja.

The NPC, a Federal Government parastatal under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, was established by Act Cap 70 LFN 2024 to stimulate and promote productivity consciousness in all sectors of the Nigerian economy, monitor productivity trends, and lead the productivity movement across the country to ensure a competitive and productive economy.

Hon. Dan-Agundi, while welcoming the delegation, urged the association to focus on developmental reporting, stressing that such efforts would fast-track progress and growth in Nigeria.

He lamented that the Centre has been underreported despite its significant mandate to encourage and promote productivity consciousness across sectors, adding that collaboration with ACOE would give greater visibility to its activities.

“Working with your association in this capacity will really help us in projecting our image. I thank you for coming. We are ready to partner with you, and I can say you came at the right time,” Dan-Agundi said.

He took the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for stabilizing Nigeria’s economy.

The NPC DG said the administration’s economic blueprint was verifiable, noting that even critics of the government could attest to its impact.

“The President Tinubu-led administration has done well in stabilizing the economy. For instance, the government has paid all outstanding debts owed to airlines operating Nigerian routes. At a time, they could not repatriate their funds due to dollar scarcity, but today, access to dollars is available,” he explained.

Earlier, the Chairman of ACOE, Comrade Sola Akingboye—represented by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Comrade Gbemiga Olamikan—said the association visited the NPC headquarters to seek mutually beneficial partnerships.

According to him, the association recognizes the immense potential of NPC’s initiatives and is willing to support its objectives through expertise in digital communication and content creation.

“Online editors possess the skills to craft compelling narratives that can effectively communicate NPC’s successes, initiatives, and opportunities. With over 50 members, we will leverage the reach of digital platforms to showcase the Centre’s positive works, enhance its online visibility, drive engagement, educate stakeholders, and ultimately contribute to its goals,” he stated.

He further pledged ACOE’s support in promoting national productivity, noting that the association is committed to joining efforts aimed at reducing poverty in Nigeria.

“The Centre can always count on us to use all available media platforms to amplify its impact and complement the good work under the current leadership,” he added.
