The Radio, Television Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), has expressed interest to partner with NYSC Radio and Television, Abuja for improved quality broadcasting in all ramifications.
The National President of the Union, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu stated this when he led its executives on a courtesy visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
Kalu applaude the radio and television station for its quality informative, educative and entertaining programming, as well as objective news reportage.
The President, while commending NYSC Management for its tremendous efforts in grooming Corps Members for leadership roles, national unity and integration, also hailed the Scheme for empowering them with skills and financial pathways to self independence.
“We love what you are doing, and we have come to identify with you to encourage hardwork. We need to have a strategic partnership”, he said.
In his remarks, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu said the NYSC Radio 88.3FM and television, was established to project the Scheme’s activities in particular and government’s lofty programmes in general to the media space.
He further said that the media outfit serves as a training ground for Corps Members who way wish to pursue a career in broadcasting after their service year.
General Nafiu added that NYSC was ready for collaboration that would add value to the station’s programmes, and also repackage the Corps Members for productive life in future.
The NYSC helmsman equally hailed the RATTAWU President for his focused leadership style and tremendous achievements since he assumed duty.
