The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has organized a sensitization workshop on Internet Banking for National Housing Fund (NHF) Desk Officers in Abuja. The event, hosted by the Bank’s FCT 1 and 2 branches, held on November 12, 2025 at the National Women Centre, Abuja.
Representing the Managing Director/Chief Executive of FMBN, Shehu Usman Osidi, the Group Head, Field Office Operations, Mrs. Felicia Aningo, commended the sensitization initiative and reaffirmed management’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. She disclosed that the Bank has successfully transitioned from manual processes to a fully digital system through the deployment of its Core Banking Application (CBA).
According to her, the Bank’s internet banking marks a new era as it promotes transparency, ensures faster processing and simplifies customer interactions. Ultimately, “it positions FMBN to deliver on its mandate with greater efficiency and customer satisfaction,” she noted
Also speaking at the event, the FCT Zonal Manager, Mrs. Ene Nduka Nwagbo, who was represented by Mrs. Grace Enyeting, charged the NHF Desk Officers to embrace the Bank’s digital transformation drive and make effective use of the new internet banking platform to access faster, more transparent and customer-friendly services. She emphasized that adopting these innovations would not only enhance operational efficiency but also improve contributors’ overall experience with the Bank.
In their separate welcome addresses, the Branch Managers of FCT 1 and FCT 2, Mr. Danladi Garba and Mr. Abdulfatahu Babayaro respectively highlighted the timeliness of the workshop, noting that it would equip NHF Desk Officers with the knowledge to better understand the Bank’s products, streamline payment operations, and improve engagement with contributors. They expressed appreciation to the Bank’s management for the consistent support and resources provided to facilitate capacity-building programs of this nature.
The sensitization featured a series of technical and interactive sessions. Mr. Uche Ihejirika, Group Head, NHF, delivered the first presentation on an Overview of the NHF Products and Loan Windows, while Mr. Simon Aganyi Kunav, Unit Head of Database, ICT Group, sensitized participants on Internet Banking Solutions for NHF Contributors. Participants were also taken through a detailed guide on how to register and navigate through the Bank’s Internet Banking (iBank) platform.
A question and answer session followed the presentations, during which the organizing team provided clarifications on grey areas relating to the Bank’s internet banking operations. The hands-on session provided a practical demonstration of how contributors can access their NHF accounts online, make inquiries, and perform transactions seamlessly.
With this sensitization, FMBN continues to strengthen its commitment to innovation, transparency and enhanced customer experience laying the foundation for a more inclusive and technology-driven housing finance system in Nigeria.
