“100 percent of the people that we have caught are Igbos. Let’s be clear about it. It’s a hoax that someone or somebody is invading from somewhere. It’s 100 percent Igbos on Igbos” he declared.

The governor said initially Anambra indigens weren’t among the those arrested but as time went by, they also joined the gangs.

“Anambra receives a proportionate share of people from other south east states and other parts of Nigeria. So at the initial stage when we started, the first set of people we caught were 100 percent Igbos from other states. But as we continued, we discovered that a whole lot of youths have taken to these bushes, got indoctrinated and radicalised. Some of them indigens of Anambra state but we are dealing with the issues. For us, there is no discrimination. Anybody in a camp in the bush with a gun, we will treat as a criminal. There is no other objective” he explained.
