Engr. Ben-Tukur elected 2nd Vice President ICAO Council

Nigeria’s Engr. Sani Ben Tukur has been elected into the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council as second Vice President.
He was endorsed unanimously by the 36 Council member states
The election happened on Thursday at the 6th meeting of the 229th session of the ICAO Council amd saw Engineer Tukur clinch one of the three (3) Vice President positions.
His brief is to assist the President of the ICAO Council with the strategic objectives and goals of the Organisation.

Engr.Mahmoud Sani Ben-Tukur the newly elected 2nd Vice President of the ICAO Council and Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano the sixth and current President of the ICAO Council.


Engr. Mahmoud Sani Ben-Tukur was appointed as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in 2019.
Engineer Ben-Tukur is an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer/ Aircraft Maintenance Instructor/ Airworthiness Safety Inspector and has over 24 years work experience in the aviation industry, with extensive knowledge of ICAO Standard and Recommended Practices and Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (SARPS) and Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations.
He has worked at Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority as General Manager, Airworthiness Standards, Aerocontractors Airlines as Safety and Quality Auditor, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology as Aircraft Maintenance Instructor, Kabo Airlines as a maintenance engineer.
He has undergone strategic courses with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States, others in the United Kingdom, Singapore and many others.
