*Says SGF is true democrats

Some Benue indigenes in the diaspora have disassociated themselves from allegations against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, as baseless and shameful.
The Benue Diaspora Vanguard (BDV) said those behind attacks on the SGF are expelled members acting to the script of fraudulent elements within certain quarters in the state.
According to a statement signed by Titus Hwande and Audu Oche, its President and Secretary General respectively, the diaspora group hailed President Bola Tinubu and Senator Akume as true democrats focused on the progress of the nation.
The statement lauded Akume for his exemplary leadership and commitment to fairness and inclusivity despite attacks from the camp of Governor Hyacinth Alia.
“We wish to categorically distance ourselves from the recent allegations levied against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume. These baseless accusations are nothing but a desperate attempt to tarnish the reputation of a dedicated public servant and a true democrat,” the statement said.
“We, the Benue Diaspora Vanguard, have been following the developments in our beloved state and are appalled by the orchestrated campaign to discredit Senator Akume. We firmly believe that these allegations are politically motivated and orchestrated by individuals who are bent on causing chaos and disunity within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“We commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his exemplary leadership and his commitment to good governance. His appointment of Senator Akume as SGF is a testament to his dedication to building a strong and capable team. Senator Akume has a proven track record of service to our great nation, and we have no doubt that he will continue to serve with the highest level of integrity and dedication.
“It is, therefore, unfortunate that some individuals, who can only be described as emergency APC members, have chosen to engage in this smear campaign against Senator Akume. Their actions are a clear indication of their desperation.
“Akume has shown exemplary leadership and commitment to fairness and inclusivity in his appointments, dedicated to the principles of justice and equity and ensuring that all citizens of Benue State, regardless of their political affiliations or backgrounds, have a sense of belonging in the current administration.
“We are particularly pleased to note that Senator Akume has not forgotten the contributions of the founding members of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), one of the legacy parties that merged to form the APC. These dedicated individuals, who have toiled tirelessly for the growth and development of the party, have been duly recognized and rewarded with appointments
“Despite the unwarranted attacks and criticisms from the camp of Governor Hyacinth Alia, Senator Akume has maintained his characteristic calm and maturity, refusing to be drawn into petty squabbles and distractions. His focus on the greater good of Benue State and Nigeria is a testament to his statesmanship and leadership qualities.
“We commend Senator Akume for his unwavering commitment to the development of Benue State and his dedication to the welfare of our people. His leadership is a shining example of what it means to be a true democrat and a servant of the people.
“We urge our fellow Benue citizens to continue to support Senator Akume and the APC, as we work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come”.
