The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed has advised Corps Members to avoid shortcuts in the quest to achieving their future ambitions.

He said success in life requires patience, diligence and perseverance.

He disclosed this while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream Two Corps Members at NYSC Plateau State Temporary Orientation Camp in Doi-Du, Jos, and their counterpart in Bauchi State Orientation Camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the State.

Furthermore, he urged them to embrace the opportunities of NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme in camp to acquire vocational skills that would make them employers of labour and also financially independent.

The DG also implored them not to undermine the post-camp training of the Entrepreneurship Development programme.

General Ahmed then admonished the Corps Members to use the opportunities of the service year to foster national unity and integration, study their host environments to make positive impact and serve their fatherland meritoriously.

In his camp situation report to the Director General, the NYSC Plateau State Coordinator, Mr Jonathan Yavala said 1,957 Corps Members comprising 982 males and 975 females were registered and have adapted to camp life.

Similarly, the Bauchi State Coordinator, Mrs Rifkatu Daniel said a total of 1,641 Corps Members comprising of 761 males and 880 females were registered.

Both Coordinators informed the Director General that all the Corps participants have demonstrated high sense of patriotism, diligence and zealousness towards the realization of the objectives of the Orientation Course.
