The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) is set to  conduct a Route March Exercise on Friday, 10 October 2025, commencing at 5:00 a.m.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Direction, Defence Information, DDI, Bridgadier General Tukur Gusau in Abuja said
the exercise will take off from Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field to Mambilla Barracks  and return to the cantonment through Niger Barracks.
He said, the Route March is a routine physical fitness exercise aimed at promoting synergy, physical readiness, and esprit de corps among personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.
He further alert  members of the public, particularly road users within the Asokoro–AYA axis, to be aware and advised to use alternative routes as may be directed by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other traffic management authorities, who will be on ground to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
He said DHQ  regrets any inconvenience the temporary diversion may cause and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the general public,
