Benue State University Students Await MTN’s Campus Activation
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Benue State University in Makurdi will host the MTN GO MAD Campus Invasion from October 15 to 17 –  three days of  entertainment, skills development, and prize giveaways to students on campus.

The event is part of MTN Nigeria’s nationwide university tour under its Go Make A Difference campaign, which has visited three tertiary institutions across the country this year. Students will have access to interactive booths, gaming competitions, music performances, and workshops focused on digital literacy and entrepreneurship.

The Campus Invasion model includes dedicated spaces for student entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses and connect with potential customers and partners. Gaming booths will feature popular digital games, while music stages will host performances throughout the event.

The previous MTN GO MAD Campus Invasion at the University of Benin in September attracted hundreds of students over three days. At that event, Edomwonyi Osariemen, a 200-level Engineering student, won a brand-new 2025 Alsvin Mikano car through a raffle draw ‘I can’t believe I won a car,’ Edomwonyi reacts to his win. Other participants won laptops, MTN MiFi devices, and airtime worth thousands of naira. He was the third student to receive a new car – one student from FUTO and UNIABUJA  received their keys earlier in this year.

The UNIBEN event featured interactive booths and workshops designed to bolster students’ skills and ideas, along with dance and game shows. Students also had opportunities to display their talents and connect with potential business opportunities beyond the prize giveaways.

Speaking at the UNIBEN GO MAD Campus Invasion, Oluwafemi Adesina, Youth Segment Manager at MTN Nigeria, said the campus invasion at Uniben was the third stop in MTN’s highly anticipated university tour this year. He further spoke on MTN’s commitment to young Nigerians: “we believe so much in empowering young Nigerians, so one of the things we have done differently this year is to make sure we create opportunities like this for students. Knowing well that school is an educational institution, students don’t usually see entertainment as something they need to reckon with. So, MTN steps in to bring entertainment as well as empowerment.”

The MTN GO MAD Campus Invasion has become one of the most anticipated campus events in Nigerian universities this year. Previous stops on the tour included the University of Abuja and the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

The event will run throughout the day across multiple zones on campus, with prize draws scheduled for the final day.
