The Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, on Tuesday, 28 January 2026, received the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO) of Defence Holdings Company Limited (DHCL), Air Vice Marshal Anthony Victor Ndace, and his team at the Government House, Jos.

The Governor assured the delegation of his administration’s readiness to partner with the DHCL to facilitate the take-off of Defence Farms and Agro-Allied Products (DFAAP) in the Wase Local Government Area of the state.

Represented at the meeting by the Secretary to the State Government, Architect Samuel Jatau, Governor Mutfwang expressed deep appreciation for the vision and mission of DHCL, particularly its intervention in the agricultural sector.

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the immediate handover of the 30,000 hectares of land already allocated to the DHCL at Wase for the commencement of the Defence Farms project.

According to the Governor, the project would not only boost food production but also enhance security in Wase and adjoining communities.

While commending the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, for his sustained efforts at ensuring peace and national stability, the Governor reiterated the resolve of his administration to collaborate with DHCL,  through the Defence Headquarters, to ensure a seamless and successful implementation of the project. He wished the GMD/CEO and his entourage a pleasant stay in the state and encouraged them to explore Plateau State’s rich cultural heritage and diverse landscape.

In his remarks, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Victor Ndace stated that he was in Plateau State on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff to express appreciation to the Governor for the allocation of 30,000 hectares of land at Wase for the initial take-off of the Defence Farms and Agro-Allied Products initiative. He disclosed that he was accompanied by a technical team to assess the land and explore areas of partnership with the state government in line with the Federal Government’s food security agenda.

The GMD/CEO thanked the Plateau State Government for the warm reception accorded him and his team, and prayed for sustained peace and continued development across the state.

Highlights of the visit included a presentation on the agricultural potentials of the 98,000 hectares of land at Wase—out of which 30,000 hectares has been earmarked for the initial phase of DFAAP—exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph involving Plateau State Government officials and members of the DHCL delegation.
