The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Friday, 9 October 2026, paid homage to the Andoma of Doma Kingdom, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr Ahmadu Aliyu Ogga Onawo, at his palace in Doma, Nasarawa State, to strengthen military-civil relations and deepen collaboration in support of national security.
The COAS, who was in Doma for the graduation ceremony of the elite Special Forces Battalion trained at the Nigerian Army Special Forces School, Doma, acknowledged the strategic role of traditional institutions and host communities in intelligence gathering, early warning, community trust and sustainable peace.
He appreciated the kingdom for its continued support and hospitality, stressing that a whole-of-society approach remains vital to addressing contemporary security challenges.
In his response, the Andoma of Doma commended the COAS for his leadership and the establishment of the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in the kingdom, describing it as a significant contribution to the community.
He pledged the continued support of the traditional institution and the people of Doma to the Nigerian Army and offered prayers for lasting peace, stability and security across the country.
