Commercial Banks in Abuja are giving customers old mutilated N50 notes through over the counter withdrawals.
Worse still, the customers were subjected through the stress of sorting the notes that can be managed from the bundle of the mutilated notes..
Our correspondent observed that the N50 notes were wrapped with CBN money wrappers.

Our correspondent was told in one of the bank that the money was supplied by the CBN.
In one of the bundle of N10,000 of N60 notes sorted by our correspondent, only N3,300 was found to be a bit useful. The rest N6,700 notes of N50 were useless and cannot used for transaction.
Economic experts say those mutilated notes may have been withdrawn from circulation but the CBN had to reintroduce them into the economy because of the shortage of naira notes in the country.
The expert saw its totally wrong to reintroduce withdrawn money into the economy as it could cause more problems.
