A baggage pilfer was caught onboard Air Peace Flight from Abuja to Port Harcourt.
EconomyFoot.Com learnt that the suspect accessed an overhead aircraft compartment and stole money from another passenger’s luggage.
The incidence was said to have happened on August 30th, 2023.
Security sources said during the flight, the suspect named Mr. Vitalis Nwabuzor, took another passenger’s computer bag from the overhead compartment, took the money that was in the bag and changed the location of the computer bag to another compartment and moved to an empty seat at the back of the aircraft.
The source further indicated that the suspect was among the first few to disembark despite the announcement of disembarkation line by line beginning from the front.
He was eventually caught and the money retrieved from him.
Security agencies advised that those flying local commercial flights in Nigeria should be wary of their luggage.
