The Emir of Nasarawa and former Minister of environment Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril, will on Tuesday lead other stakeholders in the environment sector, to brianstorm on the country’s preparedness for the forthcoming United Nations framework change conference of parties( COP28) schedule to hold in Dubai from 30th November to 12th December 2023.
The seminar is organised by Development Agenda and Environment Media Correspondent Association of Nigeria (EMCAN).
These were revealed in a press statement signed by the publisher, Development Agenda magazine Mr. Paddy Ezeala and EMCAN Chairman Amechi Chuks in Abuja.
The one day seminar with the theme ‘Climate change and COP28: the way forward for Nigeria’, will examine Nigeria’s response to climate change, Nigeria’s previous Cop’s attandance among other vital issues of conservation and climate ambitions, what does the future holds?.
Speakers at the seminar will include, Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Environment Hon. Terseer Ugbor and Nasarawa State University don Prof. Edem Enlang among others.
The parley will bring together representatives of State National Assembly, Ministers, Department, Agencies, Civil Society Organization, Diplomatic Community and the Media.
The UNFCCC Secretariat, ( UN Climate Change) is the United Nations entity tasked with supporting global response to the threat of climate change.
