A group of PDP members known as the Concerned Benue PDP stakeholders has endorsed former Governor of Benue State Senator Gabriel Suswam for the National Chairmanship of the PDP. The group announced this at an endorsement Town hall meeting in Makurdi the Benue State capital on Thursday.
Speaking at the event the Convener of the group and former Director General Benue North East Senatorial Campaign Organisation Hon. Dr. Paul Ubwa said the group which is loyal to the leadership of the PDP at the state and national levels has come together to creat a home support base for Senator Suswam.
Delivering his Keynote address the guest speaker, Former minister of states Foreign affairs Prof. Nicolas Ada outlined the sterling Qualities of Senator Gabriel Suswam and called on Leaders of the PDP saddled with the responsibility of choosing a new national Chairman to consider Suswam as he is a result oriented, disciplined, dedicated and committed democrat who will take the party back to its winning ways.
Also speaking, Former Speaker Pro Tempo of the house of Representatives RT. Hon. Terngu Tsegba, Former Governorship aspirant Hon. Chief Mrs Susan Waya, Former DG NAFDAC Dr. Paul Orhii all put their weight behind Governor Suswam’s ambition.
PDP elders in Benue North and South under aegis of G14 and G9, Local Government PDP Chairmen, Women leaders, PDP Serving and former assembly members of the Benue State House of Assembly, serving and Former Local Government Chairmen, Former PDP National and State appointees, Youth leaders and the business class who were in attendance endorsed Senator Suswam for the National Chairmanship of the PDP resolving to work tirelessly with him in reclaiming the glory and prowess of the PDP.
The event was attended by thousands of PDP party faithful across the length and breadth of Benue State.
