The crisis rocking the Benue State House of Assembly has consumed the speaker, Hon. Aondona Dajoh, representing Gboko West State Constituency.

Hon. Dajoh was previously a loyalist of the governor and emerged through the state governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia’s support, at the inauguration of the 10th Assembly.

Recent events, including attempt at his impeachment, have shown the speaker fell out of favour with the governor

The failed impeachment attempt saw four law makers suspended for six months on Friday, August 22nd 2025.

However, our correspondent reports that horse trading and other political manoeuvres saw the speaker resign barely 48 hours after he survived an impeachment threat.

His hand written resignation posted on his Facebook page came with a caption “let there be peace.”
