As part of sustained efforts to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency of combat readiness through strengthened logistics and medical support, Commanders of the Combat Service Support (CSS) Corps of the Nigerian Army have commenced a four-day operational visit to Headquarters Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), from 26 to 29 November 2025.
The visiting team comprised the Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), Major General Nansak Shagaya; Corps Commander Ordnance (CCO), Major General Abdullahi Ibrahim; Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (CC EME), Major General Adeyinka Adereti and Commander Corps of Medical (CC Medical), Brigadier General Innocent Enwuchola.
The commanders were warmly received on Wednesday 26 November, 2025 , by the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar at Headquarters Theatre Command in Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri , Borno State.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Major General Shagaya appreciated the Theatre for the warm reception and commended officers and soldiers of OPHK for their sacrifices in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations. He said the purpose of the visit was to conduct an operational logistics assessment across the North East theatre in order to evaluate the current capacity for sustaining ongoing and future operations.
He acknowledged the successes recorded so far and urged troops not to be deterred by challenges, but to sustain momentum in all their operational engagements. He also described the Theatre’s detailed brief as “insightful and highly commendable.”
In their separate remarks, the CSS Commanders lauded the Theatre Commander for his leadership, especially in strengthening maintenance culture and ensuring efficient logistics supply across the theatre. They assured him that all observations, requests and recommendations arising from the assessment would be escalated to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
The Corps Commander Medical Corps, Brigadier General Enwuchonna, commended troops of OPHK for their impressive gallantry in the fight against terrorism in the North East Region. Equally, for their efforts in stabilising security in the region. He disclosed that plans were underway to upgrade the 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital (7 DMSH) in line with the acceptable medical practice.
Similarly, the Corps Commander Ordnance, Major General Ibrahim, emphasised the critical role of logistics in military operations, assuring that identified requirements were noted and would receive strategic intervention to enhance operational outcomes.
The Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers , Major General Adereti, applauded OPHK’s resilience and successes in neutralising terrorists, denying them freedom of action and disrupting their logistics networks. He reiterated that equipment maintenance is a command responsibility and urged commanders to effectively utilise EME personnel to keep platforms serviceable.
Responding, the Theatre Commander, Major General Abubakar, thanked the CSS Commanders for the visit and reaffirmed the centrality of logistics to operational success. He expressed confidence that the visit would positively impact OPHK’s ongoing efforts and pledged continued collaboration to enhance the efficiency of combat support and combat service support elements.
