The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) National Cultural Troupe has won an award from the Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, for its sterling performance at the 2025 International Youth Day Celebration, which took place in Abuja.

The troupe was recognised for its culturally-spiced acrobatic display, melodious musical rhythm and precision dance with which it thrilled the audience during the event held in the main auditorium of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Piwoyi, Abuja.

Presenting the award plaque to the NYSC Management, the President of the National Troupe, Corps Member Pelumi Oni (FC/24C/11420) thanked the Scheme for providing the enabling environment for him and other Corps members to showcase their talents.

He added that the encouragement and support from the Management had always propelled them to put in their best during rehearsals and stage performances.

Receiving the plaque on behalf of the Director General, the Acting Director, Community Development Service (CDS) and Special Projects, Mrs. Funmilayo Ajayi, commended the supervisors of the troupe for their unrelenting efforts in the training and mentoring of the members, which resulted in multiple awards the group had won in recent times.

Ajayi commended the creativity and ingenuinety demonstrated by the Corps members in the course of service to their fatherland, especially as cultural ambassadors of the Scheme.
