The Nigerian Army has issued a strong disclaimer over a fake recruitment advertisement circulating on social media and other online platforms, falsely claiming that the Nigerian Army Direct Short Service Course (DSSC) 29 Application Form for 2026 is now available.

In a statement, issues by the Army spokesperson Colonel Appolonia Anele says that information is fake, false, and misleading, stressing that no such recruitment advertisement was authorized by the Army.

According to her, the Nigerian Army has not commenced any recruitment or commissioning exercise for either the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) or the Short Service Commission (SSC) at this time. Members of the public have therefore been advised to disregard the circulating advertisement, as it did not originate from the Nigerian Army or any of its authorized channels.

The Army further emphasized that whenever recruitment exercises are approved, the public will be officially informed through verified platforms, including the Nigerian Army’s official website, recognized social media accounts, and announcements published in national newspapers, alongside other trusted communication channels.

The Nigerian Army also cautioned Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters who exploit fake recruitment notices to deceive and defraud unsuspecting individuals. It reiterated that no fee is charged for recruitment into the Nigerian Army.

Members of the public with information about such fraudulent activities or individuals involved have been encouraged to promptly report to the nearest security agency or appropriate authorities for necessary action.
