The Honourable Minister of State for Defence H.E. Dr. Bellow Matawalle MON, has affirmed his strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and predicted a convincing victory for the President in the 2027 Presidential election.

Dr. Matawalle also urged Nigerians and political stakeholders to give the President the political space required to advance reforms aimed at economic stabilisation, institutional strengthening and national cohesion.

Speaking at his residence in Abuja today, Dr. Matawalle condemned ongoing political manoeuvres aimed at undermining the President’s administration, describing such efforts as self-serving, myopic and harmful to Nigeria’s democratic stability.

He warned that premature power struggles and factionalism distract from governance and erode public confidence in democratic institutions.

“President Tinubu has taken bold steps to stabilise the economy and strengthen national institutions,” Dr. Matawalle said.

“Those who are plotting to unseat him are motivated by personal interests, not the public good. If given the chance to complete his reform programme, I am confident the President will win convincingly in 2027.”

Dr. Matawalle emphasised recent progress in the North and across the country, attributing improvements to the President’s policies and leadership.

He urged political actors to prioritise constructive engagement over destabilising tactics and called on citizens to support policies that promote sustainable growth, security and unity.

“Let us focus on solutions that deliver for Nigerians jobs, security, and stronger institutions rather than on rancour and short-term political gains,” he added.
