Injection of N98bn in 13,500 Health Centres will Boost Primary Healthcare Nationwide – Group

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) is convinced that federal government’s injection of N98 billion into primary healthcare centres across the country will go a long way to boost the delivery of primary healthcare to the people at the grassroots.

In a statement signed by its Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi and Secretary Segun Ogedengbe, the group argued that the injection of funds into PHCs nationwide is proof that the President Bola Tinubu administration has not abandoned healthcare at the grassroots.

TMV said: “It is noted that in a bid to enhance productivity, security, and economic growth in the country, the federal government had disbursed the huge amount of money in 2025 to fast-track primary healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

“According to the information emanating from the federal government during the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Health Convention and Roundtable in Abuja, the investment is one of the largest single-year investments in grassroots health delivery in recent times.

“We applaud the move as it is expected to accommodate an additional 5,212 facilities and aimed at deepening access to quality healthcare in the rural areas and underserved communities of the country.

“There is no doubt that the funding is part of the Tinubu administration’s policy to reposition the health sector and make it a cornerstone of national development.

“We also note that due to the huge financial injection in the sector2,565 health centres have been upgraded while 1,456 primary health centres are currently undergoing renovation in the country”

The group is of the view that the deliberate policy by the federal government of providing funds for the upgrading of rural health institutions will go a long way to strengthen the local populace and make them more productive.
