Speaking during the event, the Corps Marshal described the facility as more than just a recreational space, noting that it represents a strategic investment in the physical and mental well-being of personnel.

He emphasised that table tennis, as a sport, enhances mental alertness, discipline, and reflex coordination, while also providing a platform for relaxation, bonding, and unity among staff.

According to him, the facility is designed to meet top standards and cater to both professional players and beginners within the Corps.

The Corps Marshal further highlighted the vision behind the project, stating that the initiative is aimed at nurturing talent and producing world-class athletes, building on the Corps’ existing achievements in sports such as handball and badminton. He noted that providing a conducive environment for sporting activities will not only boost morale but also inspire personnel to channel their energy into productive and healthy pursuits.

He charged users of the facility to take ownership, ensure proper maintenance, and uphold the values of discipline and sportsmanship; while stating that the commissioning signifies another milestone in the Corps’ sustained drive to enhance staff welfare and institutional development.
