NAAS Commandant commends Troops Pledges Sustained Quality Training

The Commandant of the Nigerian Army Armour School (NAAS), Major General Abubakar Ahmed, has commended the resilience and operational successes recorded by troops of the Operation HADIN KAI, pledging continued efforts to produce competent tank crew and other armour personnel to support ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North East.

Major General Ahmed made the remarks during an operational assessment visit to the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI at Maimalari Military Cantonment in Maiduguri on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer at Headquarters OPHK, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the visit was aimed at assessing the performance of armour personnel deployed in the theatre and reaffirming the support of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps to the ongoing operations.

Uba said, the Commandant praised the Theatre Commander and personnel of Operation HADIN KAI for their dedication and perseverance in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens across the North East. He also commended the professional conduct of troops and the prevailing atmosphere of stability in Maiduguri.

The statement said he explained that the visit would enable the NAAS team to evaluate the operational performance of armour crews and identify areas that may require improvement, with the goal of strengthening the effectiveness of armoured units deployed in the theatre.

Uba said the Commandant expressed satisfaction with the regular feedback received by the Armour School regarding the performance of its graduates serving in Operation HADIN KAI. The Commandant further assured that the school would continue to provide adequate training platforms and sustain the modular rotation of armour personnel to support operational demands in the theatre.

The statement averred that, the Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdusalam Abubakar, expressed appreciation to the NAAS Commandant for the routine assessment visits and the quality of training being provided to armour crew.

The statement explained that he noted the personnel trained by the Armour School have continued to play critical roles in the operational successes recorded by troops in the theatre. He commended the professionalism and competence displayed by NAAS graduates and assured the visiting team of continued maintenance of armour platforms as well as the welfare of personnel deployed in the operation.
