Chief Ortom, on 28th July 2027, again received the Project Coordinator of Gerewa Global Engineering Nigeria Limited, Engr. Peter Ashiekaa, who paid him a courtesy visit to express appreciation for what he described as Chief Ortom’s role in ensuring inclusive and safeguarding democracy in Benue State.

A statement by Zege Paul, Media Assistant to Chief Samuel Ortom said Engr. Ashiekaa commended Chief Ortom for ensuring that Chief Mike Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, of Ushongo Local Government Area emerged as the PDP governorship flag bearer.

He described the achievement as a significant milestone that required courage, commitment, and sacrifice. According to him, as a son of Ushongo and an indigene of Benue State, it was important for him to personally thank the former governor for his efforts.

He further stated that the candidature of Chief Mike Kaase Aondoakaa deserves the support of all stakeholders, including those outside active politics.

Engr. Ashiekaa described Chief Ortom as a true hero of democracy, noting that his actions have strengthened democratic principles and promoted fairness within the political process.

He was accompanied on the visit by Hon. Abugh Cletus.

Responding, Chief Ortom thanked Engr. Ashiekaa for the visit and for his words of appreciation.
