TCN Commissions New 150MVA Power Transformer at Afam IV 330/132/33KV Transmission Substation

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Port Harcourt Region, has successfully commissioned a new 150 MVA 330/132/33kV power transformer at its Afam IV Transmission Substation in Rivers State on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

The addition of the new transformer has doubled the substation’s transformation capacity from 120MVA to 240MVA, a statement from the management said.

Customs Hand Over 189,000 Cartridge to small arms control agency in Minna

According to the statement, the project has significantly enhanced TCN’s transmission capacity to Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company’s (PHEDC) load center, enabling the DisCo to off-take more electricity for onward distribution to electricity consumers in Port Harcourt metropolis and its environs.

This project is part of the ongoing TCN-World Bank power projects aimed at enhancing the nation’s power supply.
