This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Isah Sulaiman, on behalf of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba.

The new record surpasses the previous daily record of ₦20.1 billion set in September 2025, shortly after the assumption of office of the present CAC.

The milestone comes weeks after the Command also achieved an unprecedented ₦323 billion monthly revenue collection in July 2026. The Command attributed the feat to reforms, improved compliance, enhanced trade facilitation, intelligence-driven interventions and the efficiency of digital Customs processes.

Comptroller Oshoba said the achievement reflects the contribution of the Nigeria Customs Service to the economic wellbeing of Nigerians. He noted that revenue generated by the Service forms part of government resources used to fund infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other public services.

He dedicated the milestone to the Government and people of Nigeria, and commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD, and the management team for their support for modernisation, automation and reforms aimed at making Customs operations more efficient, transparent and business-friendly.

The CAC also acknowledged compliant importers, exporters, licensed Customs agents and other stakeholders, as well as Nigerians who provided actionable intelligence. He urged stakeholders to continue supporting legitimate trade, stressing that a stronger revenue base gives government greater capacity to deliver development.

Comptroller Oshoba charged officers and men of the Command not to become complacent but to see the record as a responsibility to do more. He directed personnel to ensure revenue collection goes alongside trade facilitation, professionalism, transparency and respect for stakeholders, and to resolve legitimate disputes promptly.

The NCS Apapa Area Command said it remains committed to sustaining the momentum through enhanced revenue generation, trade facilitation, professionalism and stakeholder collaboration.
