Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Benue State recorded a major boost on Wednesday as political heavyweight, Rt. Hon. Johnson Baba Ode dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the Horse Party.
Ode, an uncle to the Deputy Governor of Benue State, Barr. Sam Ode was a three-time member of the Benue State House of Assembly.
He was formally received by the Benue State Leader of SDP and Governorship Candidate, Prof. Sebastine Hon SAN in Makurdi.

Speaking during the reception, an elated Ode said: “I saw light in this campaign.
“I am glad to be with you to deliver Benue to SDP. Many will decamp to join the party. I have the structure in Otukpo and Ohimini.”
Presenting the defector, the Benue State Chairman of SDP, Hon. Idoko Itodo described the party as a movement.
“You are in the right place. You will see wonders because His Excellency is a man of wonders.
“He is persistent in fighting for the Benue people,” the chairman said.
Welcoming him, Prof. Hon described the lawmaker as experienced and knowledgeable.
“We are hanging on the cliff. We have been sold.
“I will fight insecurity. We need to be united to fight this and we need strong people like you,” the guber candidate stated.
