The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State proudly commends the massive and enthusiastic turnout recorded at the official flag-off of the campaign of the Senate Minority Leader and PDP candidate for Benue South Senatorial District, Senator Abba Moro, held in Otukpo, Benue State.

The flag-off ceremony was not merely a political gathering; it was a powerful expression of unity, hope, and determination. The overwhelming presence of supporters reflected the people’s desire for purposeful representation, responsive leadership, accountability, and meaningful development, a statement by Bright Yima Antyo, the Benue PDP State Publicity Secretary, said in a statement.

In his opening remarks, the State Chairman of the party, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Awulu Adaji, commended the party leader and former Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom; Senator Abba Moro; the PDP Governorship Candidate, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN; members of the campaign organisation; National and State Assembly candidates of the party; volunteers; and traditional and community stakeholders whose presence, solidarity, and commitment have further strengthened the party’s resolve to pursue a campaign that is issue-based, peaceful, inclusive, and focused on the genuine interests of the people.

Speaking at the flag-off, Senator Abba Moro observed that his re-election bid is not merely a quest for another term in office but a renewed commitment to the people and an opportunity to build on the progress already achieved. Senator Moro emphatically stated that the Alia-led administration has completely failed the people of Benue South Senatorial District, challenging the government to provide concrete evidence of its achievements, backed by factual figures showing what has accrued to the state treasury over the past three years.

Drawing on his experience, dedication, and clear understanding of the needs of the people, Senator Moro stated that he has sponsored about 16 bills and moved 16 motions on the floor of the National Assembly, while attracting notable projects to all nine local government areas in Zone C, alongside numerous other interventions.

The leader of the party and former Governor of the state, Chief Samuel Ortom, urged party supporters and the people of Benue South to unite and vote for Senator Moro and all PDP candidates.

“This election is an opportunity to choose credible leadership, progress, accountability, and meaningful development. Let us stand united, support our candidates, and cast our votes for the party that represents our collective hopes and aspirations,” Ortom said.

On his part, the PDP Governorship Candidate, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, called on the people of the state to unite and vote for the party’s candidates. He urged the electorate to rally behind the PDP, describing it as a team committed to good governance, accountability, development, and meaningful progress.

A major highlight of the occasion was the presentation of party flags by the State Chairman to four National Assembly candidates and eleven State House of Assembly candidates of the party.

Also present at the event were the PDP senatorial candidates for Benue North-West and Benue North-East, Dr. (Mrs.) Eunice Ortom and Hon. Thomas Tyolumun Unongo, respectively.

Together, the PDP will rebuild a stronger political movement and work towards better representation and greater opportunities for the people.

The massive turnout has sent a strong message that the PDP is ready, the movement is growing, and the journey to victory has begun.
