She described women as an integral part of society, noting that despite their significant contributions, they had not always been adequately represented in major decision-making processes, Hon. Enoch Bemshima Ortese, Director New Media, Dr. Eunice Ortom Campaign, said in a statement.

Dr. Eunice Ortom said the impressive turnout of women from across the state had renewed her hope and conviction that women would play a more prominent role in determining the political direction of the state, particularly as they resolved to intensify mobilisation efforts towards securing victory for the PDP in 2027.

The PDP senatorial candidate also expressed her determination to use her anticipated mandate as a platform for encouraging and supporting more women to attain leadership positions.

According to her, her extensive community-based experience and connections with international development organisations would position her to effectively represent the people of Benue North-West.

She pledged that, if elected, she would champion people-oriented legislation and facilitate projects with direct and measurable impact on the lives of the people across the senatorial district.

Speaking at the event, the PDP governorship candidate, Chief Michael Aondoakaa, commended the large turnout of women from the 276 wards, describing it as a demonstration of their commitment to the party and readiness to mobilise the votes required to return the PDP to power in 2027.

Aondoakaa pledged to provide purposeful leadership that would honour the people of Benue State through investments in infrastructure and human capital development, with a view to translating democracy into tangible benefits for the people.

He assured the women of inclusivity in his administration if elected governor, while urging them to intensify mobilisation efforts, leveraging their strength and influence as mothers, wives and sisters within their communities.

The PDP governorship candidate expressed confidence that the party would reclaim power in the state in 2027.

Also speaking, the leader of the PDP in Benue State and former Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, described the women as resilient and committed members of the party who had continued to keep the party’s flag flying despite its current position in opposition.

Ortom reaffirmed his commitment to providing leadership and defending the party as its members continue their mobilisation towards victory in 2027.
