This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja.

According to the statement, in the early hours of Tuesday, 9 September 2026, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area. During the operation, troops arrested the terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate. The suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation.

Also on 9 September, troops of Sector 1, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a 50-year-old female ammunition courier in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag in Igabi Local Government Area.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State. The suspect and recovered items are in military custody.

Later that day, in collaboration with a community vigilante group, troops of Sector 1 apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

During interrogation and a search, troops recovered four communication devices suspected to be used by terrorists. The suspect and recovered items are also in custody for further investigation.

The statement said the successes recorded are a testimony to the commitment of troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist networks, deny criminal elements freedom of action, and prevent the movement of arms, ammunition and other logistics across the Joint Operations Area.

The Joint Task Force appreciated members of the public for their continued support and urged them to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
