The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, has urged members of the Tiv PDP Forum in Nasarawa State to unite and work together in order to strengthen their political relevance and secure greater access to the corridor of power.
Chief Ortom made the call yesterday, 11th September, 2026 when he received a delegation of the Tiv PDP Forum, Nasarawa State, led by former governorship candidate, His Excellency David Ombugadu and represented by Dr. Emmanuel Chahul at his Makurdi residence.
The former governor stressed that unity among the Tiv people in Nasarawa State was critical to their political advancement, warning that despite their numerical strength, disunity could prevent them from attracting the attention and recognition they deserve.
He thanked the delegation for the solidarity visit and assured them that he would look into the concerns presented to him.
Ortom, who described himself as a committed leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said he remained determined to promote unity within the party at all levels.
He assured the delegation that he would continue to support efforts aimed at strengthening the party and ensuring that it remains united on all fronts ahead of future political engagements.
Also speaking, the PDP candidate for Makurdi/Guma federal constituency, Dr. Emmanuel Shior appreciated the delegation for the visit and urged them to go back and re-strategize as suggested by the leader for victory to be achieved.
Earlier, the delegation, led by Dr. Emmanuel Chahul, said they were in Benue to visit the former governor and appreciate him for his determination and doggedness in working to reposition the PDP and ensure its success in Benue State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Dr. Chahul appealed to Chief Ortom to extend the same energy and commitment to the Tiv PDP family in Nasarawa State, expressing confidence that his support and experience would help them achieve greater political success.
He described Ortom as a respected name recognised far beyond Nigeria, saying the Tiv people are proud of his leadership and political contributions.
