Welcoming guests, the Campaign Director-General, Hon. Ortese Gbegi, said the office would serve as a central hub for campaign activities and provide an accessible platform for supporters to engage with the candidate and contribute ideas towards the development of Zone B.

Speaking on behalf of the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Azua Ashongu, alongside other party leaders, urged the people of Zone B to support Dr. Eunice Ortom, citing her humanitarian contributions and commitment to the welfare of women, youths and the elderly during her tenure as First Lady of Benue State.

The North-Central Zonal Women Leader, Hon. Mrs. Owokoyi Ingyaruwa; the Zone B Chairman, Hon. Tyona Gbenyi, represented by Hon. Aba Caleb; the Zone B Youth Leader, Hon. Jirgba Terver; and the Zone B Women Leader, Hon. Dorcas Mlumun Zamber, also called for increased mobilisation in support of the PDP candidate, describing her as a generous person whose goodwill had earned her a special place in the hearts of the people.

PDP candidates contesting for the House of Representatives and the Benue State House of Assembly across Zone B also pledged to work collectively towards the party’s victory in 2027. They encouraged members not to relent in their efforts, expressing optimism that the party’s growing mobilisation would yield positive results.

The PDP governorship candidate, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, represented by his Campaign Director-General, Dr. Laha Dzerver, described Dr. Ortom’s candidacy as an opportunity to advance security, development and the welfare of the people.

Other stakeholders, including Senator Fred Orti and Rt. Hon. Avine Agbom, called for unity and sustained grassroots mobilisation. They described her senatorial ambition as an opportunity to extend her record of service to a wider constituency, urging the electorate to entrust her with the responsibility of representing Zone B at the National Assembly.

In her remarks, Dr. Eunice Ortom expressed gratitude to God and the party leadership, explaining that the office would strengthen engagement with supporters and provide a platform for collective action. She reaffirmed her commitment to addressing insecurity, promoting job creation, enacting laws with direct bearing on the lives of the people, and empowering the people of Zone B.

The PDP leader in Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, urged party members to conduct issue-based campaigns without insults or personal attacks. He noted that the party had presented candidates with relevant credentials and called on members to promote their qualifications, experience and programmes while maintaining discipline, unity and constructive engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.

The event also witnessed the reception of defectors from various political parties by the party chairman. The defectors cited Dr. Eunice Ortom’s senatorial candidacy as a major reason for joining the PDP, expressing confidence in her leadership and pledging to work with other party members towards the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
