The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Benue North-West, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Erdoo Ortom, is intensifying engagements with grassroots support groups across the state.
Her latest engagements are in Tarka and Gboko Local Government Areas, where she received assurances of support from party faithful, women associations, youths and community groups, Hon. Enoch Bemshima Ortese, Director, New Media, Dr. Eunice Ortom Campaign Organization 2027 said in a statement.

The engagement continued in Gboko, where women groups, including PDP Trustee Mothers, Genger Mothers, Kasev Mbatiav, Sena Mothers, Able Mothers, Able Women Support Group, Hausa Women for PDP, MKA Sisters and the Tailors Association, expressed support for Dr. Eunice Ortom. Their representatives cited her record as former First Lady of Benue State, particularly her involvement of women in leadership and community development, as a source of hope for greater female inclusion.
At a separate meeting with the Mbayion Mbatsegh group, led by Sunny Nyior, members recalled the support extended to their community through his relationship with the Ortom family and expressed their desire for renewed access to democratic dividends. Representatives of women, youths and community elders reaffirmed their position, while the group presented Dr. Eunice Ortom with Tiv traditional attire as a gesture of appreciation.
Responding to the groups, Dr. Eunice Ortom expressed gratitude for their reception, prayers and commitment. She explained that her aspiration was driven by a desire to advance development across Zone B through improved education, agriculture, healthcare, job creation, business opportunities, security and human empowerment. She pledged to work closely with the people to identify and prioritise their needs, while urging supporters to embrace issue-based engagement devoid of insults and divisive rhetoric.
Dr. Ortom clarified that the meetings were interactive engagements intended to appreciate party faithful, strengthen existing relationships and sustain the PDP’s grassroots structures, rather than campaign rallies.
The Director-General of the campaign organisation, Hon. Ortese Gbegi, commended the support groups for their commitment and assured them of closer collaboration to promote inclusive grassroots mobilisation. He also emphasised the importance of development-focused representation and sustained engagement with communities.
The engagements emphasize the campaign organisation’s focus on strengthening relationships with party structures, women, youths and community groups while placing the development priorities of Benue North-West at the centre of its message.
